Since a bar tender is employed to work at places such as taverns or at celebrations, there is almost always something fun going on while at work. There are a lot of people already in the restaurant business and people with no experience just looking to make some extra money.
It s like going to a party every time you go to work. You ll become familiar with all the names and terms used everyday in bars around the country. In a posh restaurant setting, the bartender may have little to no contact with the public, but in a cozy bar type setting, the bartender could be in constant contact with the public.
I realize that for some people the state of the economy can directly effect their income. Flair is the hardest style of bartending to perfect, taking years and years of practice. The cloth is used to clean spills and is also used to wipe the bar every now and then.
Remember, don't cut corners, take your time, get premium ingredients, and you will be well on your way to mixing the perfect cocktail. And most importantly, get the interviewer to like you.
