Decide that you want to become a bartender and resolve yourself to doing it. It is not quite as easy as prople think to set up and start up your own bar.
To be a bartender is more than just having a knack for pouring drinks, there are a few other criteria that should be met before this career should undertaken like product knowledge as well as backup knowledge, a good knowledge of different liquors and there measurements, cocktail knowledge would also be essential but this will all be taught to you at the school for bartenders. A student of mine became a bartender and doubled his take home income, with no previous bartending experience. Some bartending schools will actually teach the students how to tend bar with style and with some flair.
The cost of many bartending programs includes job placement assistance following completion. Bartending can be a fun job, especially if you're a people person, but unlike their portrayals in movies, in real life, bartenders are not pseudo psychiatrists. Inviting girls to dance on the bar will eventually bring guys to the bar to see the girls and they will most likely buy a few shots or a round of drinks and tip the hell out of you for getting the girls up on the bar.
Bottom line it takes class, style, patiences and an excellent attitude. Remember, a bartender is a salesman.
